FAQs – Used and One-Trip Shipping Containers from CHV

For standard ISO shipping containers, one-trip is the industry term for a unit that has completed its first delivery journey from the factory to Europe. It may show minor transport-related marks, but is generally considered good as new.

Standard ISO container doors typically use four locking bars. Some models use a three-bar Easy-Open system designed to require less effort, making it practical when the container is accessed regularly. The exact locking configuration is stated in each product listing.

The determining factors are the container’s current condition and CSC status. The CSC plate records the approval and inspection details relevant to intermodal transport. Whether a particular container is suitable for further transport is therefore assessed from both its plate and its inspected condition; the applicable status is stated in the individual product details.

Every container is fully inspected before sale, including its structure, doors and locking system, weathertightness, floor and visible damage. Whether a one-trip or used container is the better choice depends on the intended use, required condition and budget. CHV can advise on a suitable unit for storage, continued transport or later modification.
