A proven container platform, configured for the job

CHV supplies one-trip ISO shipping containers in the established 20-ft and 40-ft formats. One-trip units are the closest available equivalent to new: they have made a single journey from the factory and arrive in Europe in good-as-new condition. Their weathering-steel construction, standardized handling points and valid CSC approval make them a dependable basis for intermodal transport, secure storage and purpose-built conversions.

20-ft shipping containers: compact, versatile and widely compatible

The 20-ft ISO shipping container is the compact standard for freight, storage and conversion projects. The Dry Van measures 6,058 × 2,438 × 2,591 mm externally and provides approximately 33.1 m³ of internal volume. The 20-ft range also includes Low Cube, High Cube, Double Door and Open Side versions, allowing access, height and capacity to be matched more closely to the application.

40-ft shipping containers: greater capacity for larger volumes

The 40-ft ISO shipping container provides substantially more internal capacity while retaining standardized ISO handling and transport characteristics. The Dry Van measures 12,192 × 2,438 × 2,591 mm externally and offers approximately 67.7 m³ of volume. High Cube and High Cube Double Door versions add internal height or access from both ends for bulkier loads and more demanding operating layouts.

Eight configurations across five established container types

The current one-trip range comprises five 20-ft configurations and three 40-ft configurations. Each addresses a different combination of access, height and usable volume:

  • Dry Van: The standard enclosed shipping container for dry freight, secure storage and conversion projects. Available in 20-ft and 40-ft formats.
  • Low Cube: A 20-ft container with a reduced external height of 2,438 mm for sites and transport routes with tighter height restrictions.
  • High Cube: Additional internal height for bulky goods, higher storage density or conversions requiring more service space. Available in 20-ft and 40-ft formats.
  • Double Door: Doors at both ends provide through access and simplify the handling of long or awkward loads. Available as a 20-ft Double Door and a 40-ft High Cube Double Door.
  • Open Side: The 20-ft version opens along the long side, providing direct access across most of the container length for equipment, pallets and project-specific uses.

What defines a one-trip ISO shipping container

  • Good-as-new, one-trip condition: Produced for a single journey from the factory and supplied ready for its next transport, storage or conversion task.
  • Valid CSC approval: Every unit in this range carries the approval required for intermodal transport.
  • Weathering-steel construction: The corrugated steel shell is designed for demanding transport and outdoor operating conditions.
  • Secure access: Robust locking systems protect the cargo area; the 20-ft Dry Van includes a 3-bar Easy-Open mechanism and lockbox.
  • Durable 28 mm floor: A heavy-duty plywood floor is supported by steel cross-members; checker-plate flooring is available for suitable applications.
  • Standardized handling: Corner castings and forklift pockets support efficient lifting, positioning and integration into logistics workflows.

From standard container to application-specific solution

An ISO shipping container can remain a straightforward transport or storage unit, or become the robust starting point for a more specialized installation. CHV can coordinate modifications and equipment around the intended use:
